Film Director job description

Job brief

We are seeking a Film Director to join our team. Main duties include reading and editing scripts, selecting set locations, and creating a consistent style through collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand scripts and their writing style to comprehend stories and narratives.
• Assist in the development of scripts.
• Attend casting sessions and choose suitable actors.
• Supervise rehearsals.
• Direct actors during the filming.
• Determine set locations and perform location scouting.
• Provide motivation and encouragement to actors, crew, and other performers to produce their best performances.
• Consult with experts regarding areas of expertise that are to be portrayed on screen.
• Assist in the marketing, advertisement, and promotion of the film.
• Creating and adhering to a production schedule.
• Work with other supervisors to ensure the filmmaking process deadlines are met within the constraints of budgets.
• Coordinate with the camera crew, costume designers, art directors, and musical composers to ensure consistent creative execution.
• Work with the film editor to create the film in its final form.
• Manage conflicts on the set.
• Hiring production professionals and cast members involved in the project.
• Hold meetings and coordinate with all departments during the planning stages and throughout the project.

• Proven experience directing high-quality films 
• Past experience managing budgets and large teams
• Creative mindset and excellent communication skill
• Ability to motivate a team and clearly express the vision
• Detail-oriented and good organizational skill
