Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, customer-oriented, and technically-minded Field Service Representative to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience working in the field to attend to customers' needs when their equipment is malfunctioning. The focus of the role is to attend sites to ascertain faults, make repairs, and guarantee work, ensuring that you work in line with the agenda and service/maintenance schedule.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Dispatcher to understand which location and job you will be going to, and to review details of the fault reported by the customer.
- Drive safely to the customers' location and greet customers.
- Ask questions and perform troubleshooting on the equipment to ascertain the problem.
- Fix issues whilst on site. If the issue is not repairable, for example, if it needs a new part, then liaise with dispatch to arrange the order and delivery of the required part.
- Update the system with the faults found, and the remedy needed to obtain working order.
- Ensure that safety and work guidelines are followed, and keep in line with service schedule and manufacturer recommendations when working on any equipment.
- Advise the dispatch team once a problem has been fixed to allow them to send you to the next job.
- Write service notes, repair notes, and recommendations, such as replacement if required.
- Always wear personal protective equipment when working.
- Use hand, air, and power tools to complete the work required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or above
- Associate degree in engineering or a related field would be an advantage
- 2 years' experience in a similar role or on-the-job training, such as an apprenticeship
- Being certified to work with electrics would be an advantage
- Detail-focused, with good problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of parts and accessories
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Able to work in line with health and safety guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to use hand, air, and power tools
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to multi-task effectively
