Job brief
We are seeking a creative and experienced Fashion Designer to design new clothing lines. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, possess a deep understanding of fashion trends, and can execute for and deliver results with pre-planned timelines.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the design process from ideation through to final styling.
- Assure the product is in alignment with the business strategy and vision.
- Coordinate with team members to make edits to clothing lines, select seasonal themes, and craft new concepts.
- Deciding on trims and fabrics.
- Develop production sketches.
- Perform market research to determine new trends, techniques, fabrics, and design inspiration.
- Review and evaluate products for style and fitting during demonstrations.
- Select fabrics and styles for each garment.
- Get samples of fabric by visiting manufacturers or trade shows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in fashion or design
- 5+ years of experience
- Competent in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
- Creative design, sketching, and artistic skills
- Good communication skills to explain their ideas clearly and persuasively
- Strong ability to meet deadlines
- Outstanding ability to pick out style and color
