Job brief
We are seeking a professional, approachable, and personable Facility Security Officer to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience securing facilities and have excellent communication skills! The focus of the role is to provide security to the facility by ensuring regular patrols are completed, logs are kept, and any untoward situations are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Always ensure the security and safety of the facility.
- Liaise with other colleagues in the security department to remain up to date on the status of the security at the facility.
- Ensure that logs are kept of all incidents.
- Make regular patrols around the facility whilst in constant contact with the team.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and extract video where required.
- Follow protocol with regards to security breaches and inform the correct authorities.
- Liaise with police, fire, and ambulance departments as required.
- Assist with the de-escalation and diffusion of tense and heated situations.
- Work in line with safe working procedures and SOP’s.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the customer service or security sector
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail
- Physically able to walk up and downstairs and patrol a large area of land
- Confident in keeping logs and notes
- Confident using a computer and CCTV equipment
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Able to diffuse tense situations
- Great negotiation skills
