Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, leadership-driven, and approachable Engineering Manager to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a proven record in providing leadership to a team of engineers and be knowledgeable in our field. The focus of the role is to oversee the engineering team, assisting with training, development, and implementation of new processes, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Understand, review, and monitor existing processes and procedures in place within the engineering department.
- Review, develop and implement new procedures when required to improve processes and productivity within the department.
- Lead the engineering team to success by providing support, training, and development to team members.
- Identify training gaps or knowledge gaps within the department and arrange or conduct workshops, tools box talks, or other training as needed.
- Ensure that all team members follow health and safety guidelines at all times, and ensure that the wearing of personal protective equipment is worn.
- Assist the HSE department with developing risk assessments and safe working procedures for tasks carried out by the staff.
- Assist in hiring and training new employees.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with existing team members and address any performance issues as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience as an engineer
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience supervising or managing an engineering team
- Strong knowledge of health and safety and environmental guidelines
- Ability to problem solve and critically think
- Strong leadership abilities
- Collaborative work nature
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, etc
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
