Job brief

We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable and professional Drafter to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have previous experience in supporting engineers and designers by translating their sketches and diagrams into detailed drawings. The key focus of the position is to ensure accurate and detailed drawings for the engineers in the business to work from.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with various engineers and designers from different departments.
• Review, understand, and analyze their sketches and drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers to put their sketches and drawings into detailed diagrams and instructions.
• Produce diagrams for engineers and designers to follow.
• Assist with designing processes as set out by the company.
• Use computer software to aid in the production of designs.
• Work in line with project timelines and goals.
• Ensure high-quality, error-free drawings and designs are produced.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in an Engineering field or similar
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Ability to read, develop, and understand technical drawings and diagrams
• Good dexterity and ability to work with your hands
• Strong computer skills
• Strong analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work to agreed deadlines and timescales
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize own time and workload
