Job brief
We are seeking a friendly, approachable service focused Director of Student Services to join our team! The ideal candidate for the position will have a strong background in the effective delivery and coordination of services, preferably within the education industry. The key focus of the role will be to implement and manage the services that students have access to and use within the school facility.
Responsibilities
- Identify service requirements within the school.
- Ensure that all existing services are functional and justifiable.
- Engage with students and teachers to gain feedback on existing services and recommendations on new services that would benefit the entire school community.
- Manage and oversee the student services such as libraries, canteens, and recreational areas, as well as extracurricular activities.
- Remove services that are not justifiable by cost, or that are not being used by the general community within the school.
- Develop and implement ideas for new services.
- Liaise and collaborate with external vendors where required to implement new service initiatives.
- Manage the budget of your department, and provide forecasts and cost justifications.
- Provide reports to the head teacher on a monthly or quarterly basis as required.
- Keep the students' best interests at heart when planning new service initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, General Education, or related field
- 2 years experience in a service delivery and management role, preferably within the education industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Friendly and approachable, with good listening skills
- Highly organized with excellent timekeeping skills
- Adept with data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- Great team player
- Good eye for small details
- Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office
