Job brief
Our team is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Operations Director. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience within the maintenance and operations field and in a supervisory or managerial position. This role will focus on overseeing operations of machinery, managing staff, and collaborations with managers and heads from other departments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other department managers on projects and assignments.
- Develop efficient plans for the maintenance department in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
- Oversee the execution of daily and regular tasks for buildings and machinery in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
- Improve operational management arrangements.
- Supervise and evaluate work of operations supervisor and other subordinate personnel.
- Develop a process to screen, hire, train and/or terminate staff in accordance with company standards and regulations.
- Develop a process for appraisals and performance reviews of department staff.
- Create an effective schedule for maintenance staff.
- Attend regular meetings with department heads to ensure goals and standards are being met.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Management or other related field or equivalent experience and education
- Supplemented university courses in management, administration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in management or supervisory roles would be essential
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and/or construction role would be essential
- Excellent organizational skills; being able to work under pressure
- Substantial experience with development plans and implementation of procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with persons at all levels
- Excellent leadership capabilities with a talent for delegating tasks to the best-suited staff member
