Our company is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience providing care for individuals with disabilities, be an excellent communicator, and have a passion for helping others achieve their goals. The focus of this role is to provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide transportation to and from appointments, errands, and activities.
- Administer medication and other treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of services provided and any changes in individuals' health or behavior.
- Assist individuals with developing and achieving their goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for individuals.
- Maintain a safe and healthy living environment for individuals, including monitoring for and reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. An associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of one year of previous experience providing care for individuals with disabilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient, with a desire to help others
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ideal candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- The candidate should have the ability to effectively manage their time and prioritize tasks
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
