Dietary Aide job brief
We are seeking a highly motivated Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our dietary department, which includes food preparation, portion control, and service. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for customer service.
Dietary Aide responsibilities
- Follow all dietary department policies and procedures, including sanitation, safety, and infection control.
- Set up dining areas, provide menus, and assist with food selections.
- Prepare food items such as salads, fruit plates, and desserts in accordance with approved recipes.
- Portion and serve food to residents and guests.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Receive and store supplies and deliveries.
- Communicate resident preferences and feedback to dietary department staff.
- Operate dishwashing equipment, and stock and rotate supplies as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary restrictions
- Strong customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to pass a background check
