Dental Assistant job brief
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the dentist during various dental procedures as well as for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for managing patient requests and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Dental Assistant responsibilities
- Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Helps dentist by handing instruments and materials during procedures.
- Sterilizes instruments, disinfects, and prepares treatment rooms for patients.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and aftercare following dental procedures.
- Receives and greets patients, taking care of registration and scheduling appointments.
- Obtains and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
- Processes and X-rays film, scans, and forms for use in patient records.
- Responds to patients’ questions and assist with patient comfort and needs.
- Maintains a clean and safe clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Assists with various administrative duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records, and processing payments.
Requirements
- At least one-year experience working in dental
- Proven experience with patient care
- A certified Dental Assistant is an asset
- Comprehensive understanding of infection control protocols and safety measures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in working with computer and dental software
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Current CPR certification is an asset
