Cybersecurity Specialist job description

Job brief

We are seeking a detail orientated, motivated Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept with cybersecurity processes and procedures and have exceptional analytical skills. The focus of the role will be to provide robust cybersecurity solutions to the business.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential security violations and inefficiencies by carrying out regular audits.
• Upgrade and maintain the network and infrastructure systems in a timely manner.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security controls and protocols as required.
• Identify, analyze, and solve potential threats and problems and actual security problems as and when they arise.
• Assess current systems, situations, and infrastructure and evaluate trends whilst anticipating new security requirements.
• Update users by preparing relevant reports such as performance reports whilst always communicating the system status.
• Maintain a high quality of service by following the standards and procedures set out across the company.
• Update and maintain technical knowledge by constantly researching the current trends in addition to attending educational workshops.
• Work as part of a team and contribute to the team effort or goal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and Technology or related field
• Demonstrated work experience in a Cybersecurity Specialist role or similar field of work for at least 2 years
• Direct experience with analyzing large amounts of logs and data
• Proficient and experienced with different types of anti-viruses and security software
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders and shareholders alike
• Great problem-solving skills with the ability to break down the problem from the root cause
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to look at high-volume data and extract it to understand patterns and trends that occur
