Job brief
We are seeking a knowledgeable, professional, and curriculum-focused curriculum designer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in curriculum design and implementation. They'll also have a strong knowledge of the curriculum in the local area and what the regulatory authorities require from the curriculum. The focus of the role is to develop useful educational and compliant curriculums for the school.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with regulatory educational authorities to understand and review the curriculum requirements for the local school district.
- Incorporate regulatory requirements into the curriculum designed for the school, ensuring that it mixes all the learning initiatives from the local authority with fun and out-of-the-box approaches to learning.
- Design curriculums that suit various student types and liaise with teachers and students to understand their needs, requirements, and wants from the curriculum that the school teaches.
- Have regular meetings with the local school authority to ensure that the curriculum is still in line with the regulations and to seek advice on any updates to the curriculum.
- Work with the principal to ensure that the curriculum that is being taught suits the school and the student's needs.
- Brief the principal and assistant principal on the curriculum, ensuring that they have a full understanding of the subject and requirements for the curriculum that needs to be taught.
- Develop and implement the curriculum across all subjects' classrooms and ensure all teachers are briefed.
- Make sure that regular checks are completed to ensure that what is being taught is in line with the curriculum that has been developed and set out.
- Regularly review, amend, and improve the curriculum as required.
- Lead audits from the regulatory authorities and the local school district, helping them to see how the curriculum is in line with their guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in education or a similar field
- minimum of two years of previous experience as a curriculum developer
- Strong understanding of the local school authority's curriculum guidelines and requirements
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- confident in speaking on the describing agendas to an audience
- Able to work in line with company policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Strong independent working skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Ability to use all Microsoft Office packages
- Collaborative work nature
- Good listening skills
- Highly organized and able to multi-task effectively
