Job brief
We need a Cost Accountant to work in our accounting department. You'll be in charge of doing cost analysis and creating a financial report. You should have strong analytical skills as well as the ability to mix various data sets and determine profitability. Our ideal applicant should also be capable of producing detailed studies that propose cost-effective alternatives for our organization.
Responsibilities
- Check for inconsistencies in standard and actual pricing.
- Dealing with month-end and year-end closure procedures.
- Determine and suggest cost-effective options.
- Assist the industrial functions with the economic analysis required to conduct the activities.
- Analyze the Inventory report in relation to the Ledger Accounts.
- Assessing and advising adjustments to production costs.
- Suggest improvements to the company's operations and policies to decrease costs and maximize profit.
- Providing assistance to other firm accountants with billing and capital spending.
- Assist the finance manager in working with outside auditors during the process of auditing.
Requirements
- Work experience as a Cost Accountant is required
- Good technical abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Knowledge of organizational financial accounting
- Reading, talking, and effective listening ability
- Profound knowledge of financial rules and standards
- Knowledge of the purchasing and inventory systems
- Integrity, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information
