Construction Estimator job description

Job brief

We are in need of a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team! As the ideal candidate for the position, you will be working closely with our teams of Engineers, Architects, and Construction Managers to accurately determine the supplies needed for a project and the cost associated with said supplies.

Responsibilities

• Carefully review the plans, drawings, and notes on the assigned project.
• Create detailed parts lists for each project.
• Investigate a variety of suppliers to find the best deal for the supplies needed for each project.
• Ensure that all parts and supplies used will meet or exceed necessary building codes.
• Create an accurate and detailed budget and cost estimate for the project based on your findings and research.
• Visit construction sites as needed to monitor the progress of the project.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Several years of experience is a plus
• Must possess a strong understanding of the interpretation of construction drawings and plans
• Must be proficient with basic math, geometry, and algebra needed to create accurate budgets
• Strong research and time management skills
• Must have the capability of working on several projects at once
• Close attention to detail is required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are also a must
