Computer Systems Analyst job description

Job brief

We are seeking a Computer Systems Analyst to test, implement, and maintain organizational systems. This position will require extensive knowledge of various business systems including advanced systems such as SQL and programming languages such as C++.

Responsibilities

• Perform various activities that include computer system analysis, review, and modifications such as encoding, testing, debugging, and installation to support the organization’s applications.
• Consult with users to clarify and implement program objectives.
• Document system issues into the database.
• Report any progress to management routinely.
• Create an internal ticket for issue resolution for any problems and errors.
• Collaborate with IT and developers to produce new systems.
• Keep up to date with the latest technology and assess their fitness for organizational use.
• Investigate emerging technologies to see if implementing them will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
• Prepare a cost-benefit analysis so that management can determine whether upgrading IT systems and computing infrastructure is financially feasible.
• Choose and configure hardware and software to design and implement new systems.
• Test the systems to ensure that they function as planned.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science
• 2+ years of software development experience
• Must have a background in .NET and SQL
• Solid knowledge of BIS
• Familiarity with Java, C++, Visual Basic
