Job brief

We are searching for a creative and humorous Comedian to perform regularly at our club. The ideal candidate would be excellent at improvisation, possess knowledge of managing equipment necessary for performances, and can produce new material every few months.

Responsibilities

• Research contemporary topics, audience interests, and trends in comedy.
• Write witty, memorable, and captivating comical content.
• Perform sketches to live audiences.
• Able to create exciting and interesting stories.
• Memorize written and choreographed performances.
• Converse with the audience beyond comedic performances.
• Test audiovisual equipment such as microphones and amplifiers before shows.
• Perform light and heavily scripted material, and improvise content during impromptu events.
• Can draft new material on a regular basis and change acts if needed.
• Choreograph comedy-enhancing movements.
• Utilize other talents to enhance your comedic performances where possible.
• Promote oneself via social media.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience
• Flexible comic style
• Background with relevant audiovisual equipment
• Engage controversial and divisive topics without hesitation
• Excellent written, verbal, and improvisation skills
• Capable of picking audience members to be a part of the act
