Civil Engineer job description

Job brief

We are looking to hire a competent Civil Engineer. As one of our Civil Engineers, you would be responsible for overseeing the designing and construction work of our projects which could include roads and waterways, drains, dams, power plants, etc.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs to be used in the building of our projects.
• Perform needed research by studying maps of the building area to determine the best ways in which to design the project.
• Inspect build sites to ensure plans are accurate to their surroundings.
• Ensure that all plans created are in compliance with local codes, as well as federal rules and regulations.
• Interpret and review the designs of other team members to ensure that all problems and/or issues have been resolved before construction begins.
• Communicate with clients, builders, and subcontractors to ensure the project is completed on time and to the specifications required.

Requirements

• An Associate Degree in engineering, drafting, or related field is required, and previous work experience is strongly preferred
• Must be confident using various design software such as AutoCAD, InRoads, HydroCAD, etc
• Must possess strong communication and team-building skills
• Must have a highly analytical mind that notices small details and solves problems quickly
• Must be able to effectively multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Must be a strong team player
