Job brief

We are seeking a driven, focused, and dynamic Catering Event Server to join our growing team! The ideal fit for the role will have a wealth of experience in the catering and banquet industry with excellent customer service skills. The role's key focus is to serve banquet guests at events.

Responsibilities

• Ascertain the banquet schedule and requirements for the day, including the number of banquets taking place, the number of guests, etc.
• Prepare for the banquet by ensuring tables are set and laid out in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
• Greet guests on arrival and when leaving.
• Ensure that all silverware and glassware are polished, clean, and shining prior to guests' arrival.
• Serve guests their meals and drinks as required.
• Assist guests with any questions or requests they have.
• Take notes of allergies from guests and ensure it is passed on to the kitchen and chefs' team.
• Ensure guests have consumables such as napkins and salt and tend to requests for sauces or for meals that need to be returned to the kitchen.
• Assist guests with any complaints they may have and make their experience as pleasant as possible.
• Work as part of a team with the serving and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for guests.

_Requirements

• High school diploma
• Training or certification in hospitality would be an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Professional, presentable, and well-groomed for each event
• Good communication skills
• Physically able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident in communicating with various people from different backgrounds
• Great attention to detail
