Cargo Warehouse Supervisor job description

Job brief

We are seeking a service-focused, adaptable and dynamic Cargo Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in the warehouse and industrial industries along with a proven ability to manage a team. The focus of the role is to oversee the warehouse operations, and the team members to ensure that service levels remain as good as possible.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement policies and procedures where required to improve the productivity and process of the warehouse and its functions.
• Ensure that team members have performance reviews, monitor attendance, and deal with staff issues as they arise.
• Work in line with business objectives, KPI’s and SOP’s (safe working procedures).
• Develop and implement new SOP’s where required.
• Delegate tasks as necessary to team members,
• manage the budget and financials of the warehouse, and ensure that costs are justified and reported.
• Develop and implement objectives and goals for the department.
• Ensure that all staff is trained to a high standard.
• Ensure that all pertinent health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
• Complete regular team meetings and toolbox talks where required.
• Ensure that any accidents, incidents, or near misses are reported.
• Arrange for maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment used within the warehouse.

Requirements

• High School Education or above
• 5 years of experience within the industrial or warehousing field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or management role
• Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to delegate effectively
• Demonstrated experience in working in line with SLA’s KPI’s and objectives
• Keen eye for detail
• Safety focused
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Good computer skills
• Adept with report writing and data analysis
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
