Camera Operator job brief

Camera Operator responsibilities
- Set up and operate cameras for film productions, live events, or television broadcasts.
- Work closely with the Director of Photography, Producer, and other team members to ensure that the intended shots are captured precisely.
- Use creative and technical skills to frame shots and capture high-quality footage that meets the production requirements.
- Manage and maintain camera equipment such as lenses, tripods, lights, and microphones.
- Collaborate with other crew members such as lighting and sound technicians, actors, grips, and directors to capture and produce visually stunning and engaging content.
- Understand different shot types and camera angles to ensure that the captured footage is aesthetically pleasing.
- Work efficiently under pressure and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Use post-processing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro to edit and refine captured footage.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Camera Operator in a similar role with a solid portfolio of work
- Understanding different types of camera equipment and the process of setting up and maintaining them
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality videos using a variety of styles and techniques
- In-depth knowledge of camera angles, lighting, and sound principles
- Knowledge of digital post-processing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
- Must be able to work in challenging environments and handle a busy workload
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Availability to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings
