Job brief
We are seeking to hire a full-time Building Engineer who will be responsible for the coordination of multiple projects throughout all stages to completion and the project close-out process development. This opportunity will offer the successful candidate growth in planning, managing, and business knowledge and skills extensively and building up relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify causes of structural and/or building-related failure.
- Provide tangible solutions for repair/restoration of the subject failure.
- Carry out design, analysis, and review of existing structures.
- Assess building enclosures for failure, deficiency, and performance.
- Perform causal and forensic evaluation of impaired building systems.
- Convey solutions to the client through specifications, drawings, and reporting.
- Maintain current knowledge of technological developments in the field of engineering.
- Prepare detailed and thorough reports, including recommendations for restoration/analysis measures.
- Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure all project work is compliant with the design documents.
- Conduct field investigations.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma from a reputable post-secondary institution in Engineering, Construction, or related fields
- Construction engineering and project management experience in a consulting environment is a must
- Knowledge of safety compliance regulations and commitment to a safe work environment
- Excellent communication skills and relays information in a timely manner
- An agile approach to problem-solving
- Impeccable time management skills and ability to multitask
- Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
