Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, service-oriented Brokerage Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, previous experience working in a financial brokerage firm, and be adept at analyzing information and keeping accurate records. The key focus of the role will be to assist the brokerage with all administrative duties, keeping track of hedge funds, and ensuring the books are balanced.
Responsibilities
- Handle and maintain petty cash accounts.
- Keep accurate records for hedge funds.
- Take care of the ordering and replenishment of office supplies, including stationery, furniture, and refreshments.
- Data entry, including data analysis.
- Answer the office phone and take messages from clients to pass on to brokers.
- Assist with monitoring the email inbox and sending our responses as required.
- Draft and create company communication.
- Handle billing and payments as needed.
- Complete any other administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in business administration, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience and education
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good customer service skills
- Quick typing speed of at least 60 wpm
- Demonstrated experience in data entry with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment with an ever-changing market
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
