Job brief
We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable Beauty Salon Manager to join our team! The ideal fit for the role will have a wealth of experience in the beauty industry, specifically in skincare, makeup, and haircare, along with previous managerial experience, a keen eye for detail, and experience with budgeting and inventory. The focus of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the beauty salon in all departments, management of the staff, oversee the budget and control stock and inventory, as well as provide ongoing training to existing employees.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with beauty specialists, hair stylists, makeup artists, and skincare specialists to ensure the smooth running of the salon.
- Ensure an effective, workable rota is put in place to always ensure sufficient cover.
- Open and close the salon, and be available for emergency call-outs, such as alarm triggers or fires.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new employees and relevant training.
- Ensure continuous training in line with the industry standard for existing employees.
- Oversee the expenditure of the salon, marking It against profit to ensure the salon is profitable.
- Manage the inventory, stock ordering, and rotation.
- Develop and implement customer satisfaction surveys and innovative ways to gather feedback about customer experiences.
- Manage the marketing and advertising for the salon.
- Ensure that all hygiene and health guidelines are followed and that all staff receive the relevant training.
- Partner with suppliers to receive discounts and new products first.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training in makeup, beauty, or skincare, or five years’ experience in a similar role
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a similar industry
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of the beauty industry and products
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confident in training and mentoring other team members
