Job brief
We are seeking a professional, empathetic, and patient-focused BCBA to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience working with children and young adults with behavioral difficulties, including issues with ADD, ADHD, and other issues such as past trauma and abuse. The focus of the role will be to liaise and coordinate with persons most involved in the child or young adult's life and activities, including people like their parents and immediate families, school teachers, and doctors, to develop and execute a proactive and positive plan to address behavioral issues.
Responsibilities
- Create conditions suitable for the observation and monitoring of children and young adults.
- Make initial assessments of the patient's behavior and any issues or anomalies observed.
- Create and develop a suitable behavioral improvement/treatment plan that is suitable for the patient's abilities, and sensory and cognitive needs.
- Provide treatment and ensure interventions are made when required.
- Conduct services in line with the time and financial constraints set out by the service provider.
- Create and update case files and action plans for each patient.
- Make referrals to other services or healthcare providers for other apparent issues as needed.
- Work in line with safeguarding best practices at all times.
- Follow patient confidentiality and data protection guidelines always.
Requirements
- Certification as a BCBA
- Associates degree or above in psychology, child services, behavioral therapy, or a similar role
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, internship, or externship
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Adept with forming natural, trusting relationships, excellent interpersonal skills
- A keen eye for detail with the patience to observe over long periods of time
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to write treatment plans
