Bartender Job Description

Job Brief

We are looking for a customer-focused, service-orientated Bartender to join our team! Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing outstanding service to customers, along with knowledge of various types of alcohol, cocktails, and mixology. The focus of the role is to make drinks to customers' specifications, advise customers on good drinks to try and purchase and mix specialty cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Take customers' orders at the bar.
• Make customers drinks in the way they request.
• Advise customers of specials, promotions, and happy hour discounts.
• Mix cocktails with the correct ingredients.
• Ensure prompt service for customers.
• Take payments via cash and card, give correct change and receipts and keep the till balanced.
• Update the specials board and promotional offers when needed.
• Ensure the bar is stocked with the required ingredients and snacks, as well as clean glassware for customers.
• Ensure customers enjoy their experience.
• Make recommendations about specific drinks customers may like to try.
  

Requirements

• High school Diploma or above
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of mixology and cocktail ingredients
• Ability to communicate with customers and other staff members
• Ability to use point-of-sale equipment
• Physically able to be on your feet for long periods of time
• Willing to work late or unsociable hours
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
• Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
