Job brief

We are seeking a service-focused, friendly and professional Baggage Porter to join our team! The ideal candidate will be well-versed in providing excellent customer care and completing their work accurately and on time. The role's focus will be to support the concierge team and respond to requests for baggage to be transported around the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the concierge and front desk team to ensure awareness of any large groups or VIPs arriving on any given day.
  • Greet all guests professionally and in a friendly manner and assist them with their luggage,
  • Collaborate with the front desk to ensure that any unclaimed luggage is identified and taken to the correct room.
  • Keep a schedule of check-out times and ensure guests' bags are collected and stored securely in the reception area, ready for their departure.
  • Assist guests with retrieving bags from their vehicles and taking them into the hotel.
  • Log in any lost or left luggage, assist with tracing the bags' owners, and make every attempt to have the bags returned to the relevant guests as soon as possible.
  • Greet all guests and customers with a smile.
  • Assist with other items that may need to be ported such as consumable deliveries, etc.
  • Assist guests with queries about lost luggage, or missing items.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or above with 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably within a large hotel
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to actively investigate and problem solve
  • Confident with working independently
  • Driven to provide outstanding service at all times
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds at any given time
  • Confident with using a computer and hotel reservations system
  • Presentable and professional every day
