Job brief
We are seeking a professional, personable, and patient-focused Audiologist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audiology and be adept at treating, diagnosing, and assisting with hearing recovery or loss. The focus of the role will be to assess, diagnose and treat patients with hearing or balance issues, to ensure they have the best quality of hearing that is achievable for them.
Responsibilities
- Consult with patients to make an informed assessment and diagnosis of their condition, including hearing or balance problems.
- Use various instruments to measure patients' hearing and investigate possible causes.
- Diagnose hearing loss conditions or balance issues and create treatment plans to help solve or improve the problem for patients.
- Develop treatment plans that consider the detrimental impact the condition is having on the patient.
- Support patients through recovery and treatment.
- Liaise with other healthcare service providers and refer patients when required.
- Monitor patients' progress or decline as needed and make notes in their files.
- Keep patient information up to date.
- Work in line with patient confidentiality guidelines.
Requirements
- Doctorate of Audiology degree
- Undergraduate with a science focus
- Licensed to legally practice as an audiologist in the country/state you reside
- Two years of previous experience in an audiology focused role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with good interpersonal skills and well-developed relationship building abilities
- Strong knowledge of patient confidentiality guidelines
- Good critical thinking skills
- Compassionate and kind in nature
- Good math skills
- Good listening and observation abilities
