Our company is currently looking for an Archivist who is highly organized and attentive to detail to become part of our team. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in the field of archival work, with a strong knowledge of preservation and organization of historical records and materials. The focus of the role is to ensure the integrity and accessibility of archival collections.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain collections of historical records and materials.
- Preserve and protect records and materials by ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are utilized.
- Create and maintain records and finding aids for collections.
- Provide reference and research services to patrons, including locating and retrieving materials.
- Help with creating and executing policies and protocols related to the management of archives.
- Develop and oversee digitization projects.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in archival work.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of the institution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in library science, archival studies, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in archival work or a related field
- Knowledge of best practices in archival preservation and organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Strong focus on detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with archival management software and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
