Airway Transportation Systems Specialist job description

Job brief

We are seeking a detail-orientated, professional, and dynamic Airway Transportation Systems Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in the transport industry as a system specialist or administrator and have excellent communication skills. The focus of the role will be to maintain and improve communication, navigation, and surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain and improve communication where required.
• Maintain and improve navigation and surveillance systems where required.
• Ensure the delivery and use of automation equipment in relevant areas.
• Assist the team with any communication or server breakdowns to maintain the FAA 99% server functioning target.
• Ensure preventative maintenance on all equipment is scheduled and completed on time.
• Liaise with all relevant departments, including maintenance, air traffic control, and ground operations teams.
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of literature to schools and universities about working within the aviation industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in communications, engineering, computer science, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience within the transport industry as either a systems specialist or system administrator
• Excellent computer skills, with the ability to demonstrate, analyze and identify patterns in big data
• Good analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work as part of a large team in an effective manner to reach a common goal
• Excellent time keeping skills along with the ability to prioritize own workload
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Great interpersonal skills
• Able to delegate effectively and also follow instructions when required
• Confident in working under pressure to achieve strict deadlines and KPI’s
