Air Traffic Controller job description

Job brief

We are looking for an experienced and certified Air Traffic Controller to manage the flow of aircraft in and out of our airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient arrival and departure of aircraft in accordance with aviation regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the movement of aircraft in and out of the airport safely and efficiently.
• Provide clear and concise guidance to pilots to ensure adherence to air traffic control procedures.
• Monitor and manage aircraft on the ground during takeoff and landing procedures, ensuring compliance with runway safety protocols.
• Monitor and communicate weather and other relevant information to pilots for safe flight operations.
• Coordinate with other air traffic control facilities to ensure safe and efficient air traffic flow into and out of the airport.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on air traffic activity, including delayed flights and other incidents, to airport management, airlines, and other related personnel.
• Remain vigilant and responsive to any emergencies or unusual events, including aircraft accidents and incidents.
• Continuously update knowledge and understanding of aviation safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aviation, aeronautical science, or relevant field
• Must possess and maintain Air Traffic Control Tower Operator and Radar Operator Certifications, issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Air Traffic Controller
• A deep understanding of aviation safety regulations, protocols, and procedures
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced, high-stress environments
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work with a team and develop positive relationships with other personnel
