Job brief
We are seeking a detail-focused, leadership-driven, and personable Account Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in accounting, management, and analysis, and be adept at providing great leadership to a large team. The focus of the role will be to oversee the entire financial functions of the business, including accounting, analytics, and budgeting teams, whilst collaborating with other directors to ensure the financial goals of the business are met and maintained.
Responsibilities
- Set and monitor KPIs for the finance team.
- Work alongside the CFO to ensure that all funding and budgeting is allocated correctly and fairly to each department or project.
- Oversee the business expenditure as a whole and manage over expenditure and under expenditure, ensuring each department receives fair budgets and funds allocations.
- Liaise and collaborate with the HR department to hire management within the financial department.
- Develop and implement processes for the accounting team.
- Conduct management performance reviews.
- Monitor the analysis team and review their reports on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that management has the ability and funding to provide and encourage training to junior and senior accountants alike.
- Plan and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
- Arrange forensic audits when required.
- Ensure that all financials are in good order and no suspicious activity is taking place.
- Conduct regular accounts audits.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Forensic Science, Math or other related field, or equivalent vocational qualification and experience
- Relevant accounting qualification for the country or city/state you work in
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting management position
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Able to write and present reports to top-level directors and executives
- Confident with hiring and firing employees
- Keen eye for detail and service-focused approach to work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient with data analysis and various accounting software
- Highly organized and able to prioritize own workload
- Excellent inter-department working abilities
- Demonstrated complex math skills
