Senior Medical Assistants are responsible for everything from administrative work to patient and physician support tasks. They work in hospitals, doctor’s offices, medical clinics, and other facilities. A Senior Medical Assistant’s duties include obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examination, and assisting during medical procedures.

When assessing Senior Medical Assistants, look for someone who has a basic understanding of patient care and medical terminology. Senior Medical Assistants should have familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems, excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate high standards of professionalism and discreetness.
