Senior IT Auditors are responsible for reviewing and auditing the IT department's functions, systems, securities, work quality, and policies to ensure they meet either the company's guidelines or regulatory authority guidelines.
When interviewing a Senior IT auditor, you will be looking for a strong educational background in either IT or computer science. You’ll also want the auditor to have hands-on experience in an IT role to give them an understanding of the IT department processes and expectations. Attention to detail is key. Look for candidates who have a proven track record of inspecting and analyzing company results.
Most Senior IT Auditors will be able to provide comprehensive answers and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of these subject matter questions. Look for answers using the star method, and identify where persons are using specific examples from their previous roles/experience to demonstrate their working knowledge.
