Patient care technicians (PCTs) assist patients with daily needs and carry out routine nursing tasks in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Depending on the department they are employed in, their duties occasionally may change (e.g., ICU vs. ER).

Candidates should hold a CPR certification and have completed recognized training programs pertinent to the position (such as dialysis).
