HR Business Partners are the fundamental function of the HR department. They are responsible for building HR frameworks and policies, and procedures to keep the business and its employees safe and in line with local and official regulations.
When interviewing an HR Business Partner, a general background in Human Resources or similar education is preferable. However, experience is key here. Look for candidates who have a demonstrated background helping companies in a similar industry to yours, and be sure to check their in-depth knowledge of HR processes, rules, and functions.
Most HR Business Partners will be able to provide comprehensive answers and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of these subject matter questions. Look for answers using the star method, and identify where persons are using specific examples from their previous roles/experience to demonstrate their working knowledge.
