Database Managers manage and oversee the organization's data management processes, security, and storage procedures. They also gather and analyze user requirements and build, test, and implement database solutions.
When interviewing a Database Manager, it is important to identify their knowledge of data privacy and security, and their technical knowledge surrounding databases in general. It’s also useful to look for Database Managers who have worked in a similar environment to yours and have a good understanding of business operations.
Most Database Managers will be able to provide comprehensive answers and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of these subject matter questions. Look for answers using the star method, and identify where persons are using specific examples from their previous roles/experience to demonstrate their working knowledge.
