Child Care Teachers are primary caregivers who work in the school system to provide care, education, and interactive play to young children during their first few years of schooling. They work closely with students and parents to set them up for a positive schooling experience as they grow and develop.
When interviewing a candidate for a Child Care Teacher role, it is important that the candidate has an educational background in either childcare, education, or a bachelor's degree in a core subject such as English, Math, or Science. The personality a candidate has for this role is imperative. You should be looking for well-balanced and caring individuals who have compassion and a desire to progress young people. Key additional certifications to look out for would be BSL and first aid certifications, along with CPR.
Most Child Care Teachers will be able to provide comprehensive answers and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of these subject matter questions. Look for answers using the star method and identify where persons are using specific examples from their previous roles/experience to demonstrate their working knowledge.
