The Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales in a specific geographic area or territory. This involves seeing and seizing new business possibilities, retaining connections with existing clients, and exceeding sales goals.

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze data to inform sales strategies.

Skill related questions:

  • How do you identify and pursue new business opportunities in your territory?
  • How do you maintain relationships with existing clients and ensure their continued satisfaction with our products/services?
  • Can you describe your experience with sales forecasting and setting targets?
  • How do you leverage data and analytics to inform your sales strategies?
  • How do you manage your sales pipeline and ensure a consistent flow of new business?
  • Can you provide an example of a successful sales campaign you have led in the past?

Behavioral or situational questions:

  • Describe a situation where you had to think creatively to close a sale.
  • How do you manage your time and prioritize your activities in order to maximize your sales efforts?
  • Can you tell us about a time when you had to overcome a sales objection and how you did it?
  • Describe a situation where you had to work collaboratively with a team member or colleague to achieve a sales goal.
  • How do you handle situations where a potential client expresses hesitancy or resistance to a sale?
  • Can you describe a time when you had to adapt your sales approach to meet the specific needs of a client?

General questions:

  • What do you think sets you apart from other candidates applying for this position?
  • How do you stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes that could impact sales in your territory?
  • Can you tell us about a time when you had to juggle multiple sales opportunities at once?
  • How do you approach building and maintaining a strong network in your territory?
  • How do you handle situations where a potential client is interested in our products/services, but has concerns or questions that you are not able to answer?
  • What do you think are the most important skills for a successful Field Sales Representative?
