Generally, if the recruitment process is taking longer than expected, it can be easy for a candidate to assume that they are no longer wanted by the company. This can be damaging, especially if the candidate is a favorable one for the job opening. Thus, it is best to inform them that they are still in contention, and that things are just taking a little longer than expected.
Send this email within a few days to a week after internal background checks for the candidate have started, but you have not received an update yet. Promptly sending the email will make the candidate feel valued by conveying that they are still eligible for the role.
Please keep in mind that this template can be customized to suit your company's voice and tone.
