Use this template when it is close to the Performance Review season at your company. Sending this email out company-wide will remind the team to think about their goals and KPIs, and will help engage meaningful conversations and effective outcomes leading up to the performance review.

Why does it matter?

Every company is different. Some have performance reviews once a year, while some do them every quarter. Performance reviews help companies ensure that they are getting the best out of their employees, and ensure that employees get fair opportunities for promotions or salary increases. Announcements like these put everybody on alert to reflect on how much they have grown from the last performance review.

When to send?

Consider sending this email around 2 weeks to 1 month before the actual performance review. The situation differs from company to company, but generally it is best to give your team some time to get their final goals sorted. Early performance review announcements are also great for your management, as they will have more time to prepare for and carry out the reviews without being bottle necked.

What to include?

  • All pertinent dates for the performance review
  • Key steps leading up to the reviews

I am delighted to announce that in [Time Leading Up to Reviews]’s time we will be having our company-wide Performance Reviews!

These reviews are normally carried out to measure your progress and growth throughout your journey in working to fulfill your goals.

All full-time employees are required to participate in performance reviews. Here are the key steps leading up to the reviews:

  1. Employee self-evaluation, to be completed by [Deadline]
  2. Managers to review their subordinates’ self-evaluations, to be completed by [Deadline]
  3. HR team to review the evaluations, to be completed by [Deadline]

Please be on time for all the aforementioned steps. If you have any questions about your performance review, please do not hesitate to reach out to your manager for more information.
