Job brief

We are seeking a personable, service-focused, and detail-oriented Butler to join our team, the ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills with service at the heart of their actions along with having excellent timekeeping, and work prioritization skills. The focus of the role is to provide a white-glove service to customers by serving exquisite food, drink, and other consumables at events and in their rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive at the hotel and be their first point of contact for questions and queries.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and provide a seamless service to them to acquire any items they need and provide them with fast, timely service for all of their needs.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the inventory and the consumables on offer, such as specialty wines, champagnes, and spirits, along with food, snacks, etc, and make recommendations on pairing drinks and food where required.
  • Monitor stocks of items, and re-stock where applicable.
  • Liaise with all hotel departments including housekeeping, kitchen, and reception staff to meet the guest's needs.
  • Provide excellent and professional service of meals and drinks to guests.
  • Recommend attractions and activities for guests.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel safety and hygiene guidance at all times.
  • Ensure guests rooms are presentable, clean, and tidy, and liaise with housekeeping to ensure such.
  • Attend to guests at check out to ensure a smooth and happy departure from the hotel.
  • Be well-groomed, professionally dressed, and compassionate at all times.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience as a host, butler, or other related role within the hospitality field
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate with varying types of people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and escalate issues where required
  • Excellent customer service skills with a keen eye for detail and service focus
  • Able to confidently maintain and keep stock levels accurate
  • Confident with the use of computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated knowledge about the local area, attractions, and activities available
  • Ability to handle sensitive and personal matters discreetly
