Use this template when you need to send a video interview invitation email to a candidate. Many employers conduct video interviews to screen candidates before inviting them to an in-office interview.

Why does it matter?

Video interviews help reduce time to hire, save travel costs, and are an efficient way for hiring managers to compare candidates quickly. They are also beneficial during times of quarantine, or when a desirable candidate is working overseas or is unable to physically come to the office. When to send?

Send this email as soon as your company has decided to call a candidate in for an interview after reviewing their application and credentials. Specifically, this template will be ideal if your company has a video interview-first strategy, before inviting them for a physical interview later on.

What to include?

Make sure to include the position they have applied for, the name and position of the person they will have an interview with, a few different time and day options (make sure to consider their time zone), and any pertinent links, like video interview links if they can already be generated at this stage.

Please keep in mind that this is a template. You may change it to suit your company's voice and tone.

Hello [CANDIDATE NAME],

Thank you again for your interest in [COMPANY NAME] and for applying for the [JOB TITLE] role.

We are pleased to inform you that we have selected you for the next round, which will be a video interview with [NAME AND POSITION OF PERSON INTERVIEWING]. The main purpose of this interview is for us to get to know you better, for you to explore the role further, and to ask any questions you may have about the role and company.

The video call should not take more than 1 hour.

Here are a few date and time options we have available [INSERT TIME ZONE INFORMATION HERE]:
